Well, natural herbs like Mulethi, Saffron etc. help to nourish and enhance the quality of the skin as they are considered a good source of vitamin. According to Ayurveda, herbs are used to eliminate dampness and toxins from the body and give you a glowing complexion. Let us have a look at the most popular herbs and their uses for a supple and softer look:

1) Get rid of Depigmentation with Licorice
Often known as Mulethi, Licorice is considered an effective remedy to get rid of hyper pigmentation and sun burns. The root extracts act as a shield to protect the skin against harmful UV rays and controls melanin production. An active ingredient, Licochalcone A, guards the skin from harsh rays of the sun. For instant results, mix 1 tbsp. licorice powder and 1 tsp. oats powder with milk or rosewater and apply it on red, acne-prone areas.
2) Flaunt wrinkle free skin with Saffron
Saffron or Kesar, has anti-inflammatory properties to get rid of wrinkles, fine lines and patchy skin. This herb is an excellent skin toning agent which helps to unclog pores, keeps the skin firm and eliminates blackheads. When used on the skin, Saffron improves the blood circulation and keeps the skin well-toned. For best results, soak few filaments in milk and apply it on skin for five to ten minutes.

3) Say good bye to Dead Skin with Almond
Rich in vitamin E and proteins, Almonds help to prevent cell damage and repair damaged skin caused by sun rays. When mixed with milk, it acts as a natural moisturizer to keep the skin soft and glowing. When mixed with oil, the combination reduces black heads, prevents acne and removes dry skin. It also acts as a mild disinfectant for wounds. Soak few almonds in milk, make a paste and used it as a scrub to remove dead skin.

4) Reduce Acne with Cinnamon powder
Also known as Dalchini, Cinnamon is antiseptic in nature and can be used for treating acne and pimples. Cinnamon is known to making the skin firm by bringing blood and oxygen to the outer skin surface. To reduce acne, mix 1 tbsp. of Cinnamon with 3 tbsp. of honey and apply the paste on the affected areas for ten minutes.

5) Get rid of Oily skin with Sandalwood
Sandalwood, also known as Chandan, is known to have antiseptic, astringent, anti-inflammatory and disinfectant properties. Sandalwood powder helps to reduce rashes, pimples, blackheads and other eruptions. It blocks the growth of bacteria and tones up the skin. To get rid of acne and acne scars, mix 1 tsp. of Sandalwood powder and 1 tsp. of black gram powder. Make a paste by adding water and apply it evenly on acne for half an hour.

6) Say no to open pores with Tomato
Rich in Vitamin C, A and antioxidants, Tomato juice helps in anti-aging process, reduces acne, treats sunburns, maintains pH balance and tightens pores. For instant glow, apply tomato juice on the skin with cotton and wash it after half an hour for that party ready look.

7) Get back Vibrant and Youthful skin with Wheatgrass
Acts as a natural detoxifier, wheatgrass powder rejuvenates and enhances the glow of the skin.Enriched with vitamins A, C, B complex, E, chlorophyll  and natural phytochemicals such as flavonoids, wheatgrass is known to purify the blood, give new life to old cells and significantly slows the aging process. It helps to reduce acne and is considered to have medicinal properties. For external use, mix 1 tbsp. of wheatgrass powder with 3 tbsp. of water and apply the paste on the affected areas to treat sunburns.

A simple remedy is to Mix nutmeg powder with milk and apply it on the skin as a face pack for fifteen minutes.
