You talk about makeup and most of the women would have a bright smile on their faces. They love talking about it, they love doing it. In fact, only a woman can tell how deeply she cherishes her makeup kit. It is like a magic wand for her as in no time it adds charm to her personality, makes her look all the more pretty. However, some women often take the beauty tools for granted and forget to care about their cleanliness. Well, when did you clean your beauty tools last? Most of us won’t even remember. Right?
We must not forget that beauty tools are as important as the makeup itself. Just the way you take care of your makeup products ensuring you are not using any product which has already expired, similarly you should also clean the beauty tools regularly to ensure they are bacteria free and are hygienic enough to use. Because no matter how expensive and of good quality are your makeup products, if the tools with which you apply them are not clean, it will not be worth it.
Tips for cleaning and maintaining your beauty tools
Every week you must clean all the makeup brushes nicely. For that, you can use mild soaps or baby shampoo and warm water. Thoroughly clean them and then disinfect them by swooshing them in a bowl with 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Dry them by keeping them flat on a towel to keep them in shape. Clean them every week.
Wash your metal tools like an eyelash curler, cuticle nippers, tweezers, nail clippers in warm water mixed with antibacterial soap. Dry them with a towel before keeping them back in the makeup box. Clean these tools in every fifteen days.
We often end up spilling makeup products in the container. Remove the makeup products from the container, clean it well with a wet cloth or wash it if it’s washable, dry it and then keep your products back.
First of all remove all the hair from your brush using a toothpick or a comb if needed. Take a bowl of water mixed with clarifying shampoo and soak your brush in it for 4-5 minutes. Now take an unused toothbrush, soak it in the same water and clean your hairbrush thoroughly with it. Once you are done, rinse it with clean water. Dry it. You should clean your hairbrush at least once in a month.
Dip your makeup sponge in warm water mixed with mild soap. Rub it gently to remove all the makeup on it. Then run it under fresh water to wash thoroughly. Now pat dry using a clean towel. Make sure you clean the sponges very frequently, maybe two times in a week.
Clean your lotion, cream and hairspray bottles with wet makeup wipes frequently as sometimes while using them some of the cream or lotions gets spread out around the corners of the bottle. Also, clean the spout of the bottles where sometimes those little crusty edges are formed. This will help you in using the product easily and without wasting it.
